- Opel, originally Adam Opel AG is an automobile manufacturer based in Germany. The company was founded by Adam Opel in January 21, 1863 as a sewing machine factory in 1886 began producing bicycles in 1899 began producing cars and has maintained this type of production to the present day. It is a subsidiary of General Motors since 1929.
The current Opel range consists of the following models: Astra, Corsa, Meriva, Zafira, Agila, Signum, Vectra, Speedster, Tigra TwinTop, Van, Combo, Vivaro, Movano. The Opel Blitz model was used in WWII by the German Army to transport troops.
